Comedy At The Festival

Comedy returns to Blues & Brews with stand-up shows featuring four comedy acts during the festival weekend. On Friday and Saturday nights, Arroyo Wine Bar & Gallery will host the "Dirty Shows" starting at 10:00pm. For the young at heart, please note that some of the comedy will be adult in nature. Catch all four comedians again on The Blues Stage, Saturday and Sunday, September 19th and 20th, at 4:30pm and 2:30pm during the festival.

Adam Cayton-Holland

Adam Cayton-Holland is a national touring comic who has appeared on Conan@midnightThe Meltdown with Jonah and KumailThe Pete Holmes ShowHappy Endings and was named one of Esquire’s “25 Comics to Watch” as well as one of “10 Comics to Watch” by Variety. Along with his cohorts in The Grawlix, he is one of the creators and stars of the new TRU TV sitcom. Adam lives with a purebred Chesapeake Retriever named Annabel Lee, once threw out the opening pitch at a Colorado Rockies game, and people have described him as “genial” and “with pretty decent teeth.”

Brent Gill

Brent Gill knew he would be a performer the first time he felt the heat of a roomful of eyes on his bare genitalia onstage. (It's a long story and a sealed court document). While merely a teenager, Brent was a steel worker by day and exotic dancer by night. His goal: Immortality. However, a lingering knee injury suffered during a particularly erotic shimmy to Ginuwine's "Pony," as well as an expanding waistline made it clear that Brent Gill's dancing days neared an end. Initially his attempts at nude, comedic, interpretive dance failed, but he quickly found confidence behind the mic as a more traditional standup comedian. Though slightly less erotic than his previous endeavors, Brent's onstage charisma and energy will leave audiences aroused and entranced.

Troy Walker

Troy Walker has quickly become one of Denver's most sought-after comedians, a designation he'd dismiss with a modest scoff, despite its accuracy. A regular at Comedy Works, Walker has won the Comedy Works "New Faces" contest twice. Walker has had the pleasure of opening for some of the most prominent comedians in the country and also serves as a fine ambassador of Denver comedy at national and local comedy festivals including The Aspen Rooftop Comedy FestivalThe Great American Comedy FestivalThe Laughing Skull Comedy FestivalPortland's Bridgetown Comedy FestivalThe Telluride Comedy FestivalJust for Laughs Montreal's New Faces of Comedy and most recently on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson

Stephen Agyei

Stephen Agyei is one of the fastest rising stars in comedy today, behind a mischievous style industry veteran Lamont Ferguson once memorably described as "calculated fearlessness." A finalist in the 2012 Great American Comedy Festival, winner of the 2012 Comedy Works' Clean Comedy contest, and runner-up the same year in the elite venue's New Faces contest, the Denver-based comic has featured at clubs coast to coast and opened for premier performers such as Dave ChappelleMitch FatelMyq KaplanTodd Barry and Tig Notaro.
