Ivan Singh came to love the blues through his mother. A single mom and a doctor, the hardships of life were relieved with blues records by B.B. King and Buddy Guy. Ivan’s mother loved them all, really, from Eric Clapton to Stevie Ray Vaughn, and all the blues players in their native Argentina. That constant exposure to blues music and the joy it brought their little family lead to Ivan playing himself, distinctively on the Lata de Batava, a four-string slide instrument that makes his sound stand out in a crowd. An acclaimed guitarist, Ivan now lives in Chicago where the blues reigns supreme and where he thrives, sharing stages with Buddy Guy, Taj Mahal and others. Chicago, Argentina … blues music is at home anywhere.
