The once-shy Jesse Roper has confidently emerged from the shell he hid in when he first started playing music. It wasn’t until he was in his 20s that he finally strode onstage and captivated audiences with his engaging, blues-rock-Americana music. And thank goodness he overcame that obstacle as we now have an opportunity to absorb The Roper Show in all its charismatic energy and drive.
Jesse hails from Metchosin, British Columbia, where he got his first guitar at the age of six. Despite his obvious talent, he didn’t plunge into the life of a professional musician right away. After working as a painter for eight years, he saw the light and swapped the brushes and fumes for his guitar. “I was busy, but I wasn’t happy.” Now the road warrior is a fixture on the festival circuit, including ours, sharing his heartfelt songs and tasty guitar work.
And, here’s a fun fact — if you’re a fan of Colorado’s Upslope Brewery, you may already know Jesse’s music. Cheers!
