Congratulations to the winner of the 2018 Telluride Blues Challenge - Alex Paul! Paul competed against five other finalists at the Telluride Blues Challenge on Saturday, September 15th and won a premium Martin 00X1AE guitar provided by Telluride Music Company, two performances at this year's and next year's Telluride Blues & Brews Festival, a spot on the 2019 Durango Blues Train and more!

Paul competed against five other finalists at the festival's Telluride Blues Challenge during our annual Blues for Breakfast at the Back Porch Stage at the Elks Lodge on Saturday, September 15th. His winning performance earned him a premium Martin 00X1AE guitar provided by Telluride Music Company, along with two performances at this year's and next year's Telluride Blues & Brews Festival, a spot on the 2019 Durango Blues Train and more!

With guitar prowess and vocal aesthetic that nail the blues format, Alex's biggest strength is his careful song-writing. Rich in wit and thoroughly deep in meaning, his songs are relatable and fresh but evocative of the great blues songsmiths.

Telluride Blues Challenge

The Telluride Blues Challenge is an annual competition hosted by the Telluride Blues Society and the Colorado Blues Society. The competition showcases talented musicians who excel in the Blues genre and is open to any solo performer(s), acoustic and electric, who are not currently signed to a major record label or publishing deal.
