New Orleans in the house! The Rumble brings us not only thumping brass and live-wire energy, but the living, breathing, centuries-old culture of Black Masking. That tradition is embodied in Chief Joseph Boudreaux Jr. – the son of the great Big Chief Monk Boudreaux – who performs in the elaborate beaded and feathered costumes worn by Indians at Mardi Gras and other notable occasions. The rhythm they dance to comes from the backline – or rumble – a propulsive, infectious sound that entices your body to move and groove. With Boudreaux, The Rumble includes trumpeter Aurélien Barnes, trombonist José Maize Jr., bassist TJ Norris, guitarist Ari Teitel, keyboardist Andriu Yanovski, and drummer Trenton O’Neal.
