These brothers could tell a lot of stories of their trajectory between Australia and where they’ve landed – if only for a moment - in Telluride. The Teskey Brothers’ journey has been the ultimate in walkabouts. The brothers – Josh on vocals and rhythm guitar, Sam on lead guitar – started gigging house parties around Melbourne. Their sound and verve soon delivered them from backyard keggers to stages around the world. Little wonder what with Josh’s passionate, soul-infused vocals and Sam’s understated “less is more” guitar sound. They count as influences Otis Redding, Robert Johnson and B.B. King and it’s apparent in every heart-grabbing song they play live or commit to wax. Their latest release, The Winding Way, mines the deep vein of classic soul music, taking full advantage of Josh’s yearning vocals.
