2018 Bal De Maison: Opening Celebration

The opening celebration for the 2018 Telluride Blues & Brews Festival will feature the jaw-dropping, hair-raising guitar and vocal talent from Samantha Fish. Held at the historic Sheridan Opera House on Thursday, September 13, the Bal de Maison is the perfect way to kick off the festival weekend. The doors open at 8:30 pm and the show starts at 9:00 pm. Tickets are on sale now and very limited (less than 100 tickets left).
History
The phrase Bal de Maison originated from dances held at someone’s house - typically in the front room. These dances were usually announced by the host of the party simply yelling from his or her porch to the neighbors. Word would sometimes travel up to 40 miles. The Bal de Maison opening celebration has been a part of our festival tradition for over 10 years. So here's our shout out - spread the word about the Bal de Maison and let’s have a dance party to start the weekend!
Samantha Fish
We don’t just invite any artist back to year-after-year and there’s a good reason Samantha Fish is set to return for a third consecutive year at the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival! In 2016, she won our hearts with sizzling guitar work, soaring vocals and a red-hot band. In 2017, she returned with a new band, a new catalog of songs, but the same jaw-dropping, hair-raising guitar and vocal talent. Those who’ve seen Samantha perform know- she has what legends are made of and is the torchbearer of the blues. Last year she delivered not one, but two exceptional, yet stylistically contrasting albums. Recorded with vintage gear, a full horn section and plenty of soul, ‘Chills & Fever’ displayed her powerful vocal range and a fierce guitar prowess; while ‘Belle of the West’ showcased her sublime acoustic guitar skills as well as her rootsy, emotionally resonant songwriting.
