Finalists Chosen For The Road To Blues & Brews
Telluride Blues & Brews Festival, Listen Up Denver! and Park House are hosting the Road To Blues & Brews on August 1st, 2015 benefitting Colorado's Autism organization Firefly Autism and Autism Speaks. The event will give some of the best bands in the Rocky Mountain region the opportunity to perform alongside some of the biggest musical names in the country at the 22nd annual Telluride Blues & Brews Festival in September.
Firefly Autism is a nonprofit Applied Behavior Analysis shop that focuses on working with children with Autism to transform their lives through thoughtful, innovative, empirical learning treatment programs. Autism Speaks is the world’s leading Autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for Autism; increasing awareness of Autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with Autism and their families.
After combing through over 800 submissions from around the world, the six bands that have been chosen as finalists, and will play head to head on August 1st are the powerful horn funk supergroup Analog Son, genre bending bluesy Americana trio Augustus, Colorado music legends Chris Daniels & The Kings, 2nd generation Denver blues guitar virtuoso Michael Hornbuckle, energetic soul-soaked female fronted blues-rock group Rachel & The Ruckus, and the jammy blues band that puts a modern twist on roots music Union Driftwood. Each band will be judged by a panel of industry professionals to determine which band gets to play the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival.
Tickets to Road To Blues & Brews are $10 and now available here. Doors will open at 12:00 p.m. with music starting at 1:00 p.m. on August 1, 2015. A portion of the event proceeds will benefit Firefly Autism and Autism Speaks. For more information, click here.
