Making My Blues Green: Coolest And Cleanest Campsite Challenge

With the 22nd Telluride Blues & Brews Festival less than three weeks away, we’re excited to introduce the Making My Blues Green: Coolest & Cleanest Campsite Challenge, a new spin on our celebrated ‘Coolest Campsite Challenge’. Brought to you in collaboration with the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics, the new contest encourages festival campers to build a clean, sustainable and creative campsite for a chance to win 2016 Blues & Brews tickets and other great prizes!

Think you have what it takes? When the festival kicks off on Friday, September 18th, campers can stop by the Leave No Trace booth, located in the festival sponsor village, and nominate their campsite or a neighbor’s site to enter the challenge. Nominated campsites will then be judged by a panel of camping and sustainability experts on three criteria, cleanliness, sustainability and theme. Nominated campsites will also be judged by fellow campers through popular vote. All campers will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite campsite throughout the festival at the Leave No Trace tent.

The best and most popular campsites will win daily prizes and be entered to win a grand prize of two tickets to the 2016 Telluride Blues & Brews Festival. Daily prizes include 2016 camping passes, backpacks, t-shirts, water bottles and more!

Festival campers, this is your chance to have the coolest campsite and make Blues & Brews history! Put your thinking cap on and start preparing now, this year’s Coolest & Cleanest Campsite Challenge is anticipated to be better than ever. 

Judging Criteria Guidelines

Cleanliness: Green is clean. Show us how creative you can be in keeping your site clean. 

Sustainability: Show us how you Reuse, Reduce & Recycle your campsite. Some ideas: Reuse cups, utensils and water bottles; Alternative green energy sources to power your campsite; carpool and bike; share your resources with your neighbors. 

Theme: Come up with a creative and environmentally friendly theme. Make your campsite FUN! Remember, BE ORIGINAL, BE GREEN and have fun!!

Popular Vote: Get your friends to visit the Leave No Trace booth inside the festival and vote for your campsite. They can win prizes too! Don’t forget to post the name of your campsite in the campground.
