2017 Fais Do-Do: Closing Celebration

Sunday, September 17 | Anders Osborne | Sheridan Opera House

It wouldn't be the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival without Anders Osborne! The 2017 festival weekend ends with a special closing celebration show from Anders Osborne at the historic Sheridan Opera House on Sunday, September 17. The doors open at 8:30 pm and the show starts at 9:00 pm. Tickets are on sale now and very limited (less than 50 tickets left).

History

Fais Do-Do roughly translates to "Cajun dance party". The parties were named for the gentle command ('go to sleep') young mothers offered bawling infants so that they could get back out and dance with their husbands before someone else did. This is the final show of the festival weekend and shortly thereafter, everyone will get some sleep! This show is a highlight for many and one you won't want to miss.

Anders Osborne

From the moment the Swedish native put down roots in New Orleans after traveling the world, he has become an irreplaceable part of that city’s musical landscape. Profoundly confessional songwriting, a voice that summons forth and conquers demons, and guitar work that pierces the soul, Anders’ work is incomparable. We’ve had him play this festival more than any other artist and with good reason. His authenticity and dedication to the blues form, which he fuses with rock ferocity and his unflinching lyricism, is the gold standard of modern blues music. His latest record, Flower Box, is another fine collection of his personal, heartfelt worldview, songs that give plenty of space and breadth to the intent of the message, and, of course, showcase his superior talent on the electric guitar. He is a gift to music and to our ears. Discover more - read, listen and watch here.

Please note, VIP and Juke Joint passes are not valid for show entry, this is a separate ticket.
