From the tiny town of Como, Mississippi, come the Como Mamas — Ester Mae Smith, Angelia Taylor, and Della Daniels — and they are bringing the good word with them. This is traditional gospel music just like they learned from the elders at the Mt. Moriah C.M.E. Church. Blues runs in the family, too: Ester Mae and Della are cousins whose grandfather, Miles Pratcher, played guitar and hosted front porch jams with anyone who’d play, including blues legend Mississippi Fred McDowell.
