This is feel good music, no doubt. The California Honeydrops have grown from lead vocalist, guitarist and trumpeter Lech Wierzynkski and drummer Ben Malament’s earthy and intimate busking days, to today’s full-fledged soul-fired dance party. What remains from Lech and Ben’s can’t-help-but-notice street performances is the connection they create with the audience. Band members often join the crowd, shaking tail-feathers and high-fiving with joyful abandon. They’re smooth, they groove, and ya gotta move.
